Schenectady Landlords originated as the Schenectady Rental Property Owners Association, SRPOA. It has been defunct since April 2007.
There are different types of landlord groups operating in the area. Most are for “investment management” and how to make a buck in real estate. They are designed to help investors make and keep the most money possible. This site however is different.
We are dedicated to helping the “small landlord.” We want to help you understand the laws as they stand, not to politic and lobby to get the laws changed. We want to help you discover how to offer your units to reasonable tenants (there is no such thing as the perfect tenant) and if it doesn’t work out, how to evict your tenants at the lowest possible loss to you. It will be a loss when you evict.
This blog-site is free to any landlord, and any tenant in cyberspace. Articles, letters and questions are very much appreciated. Comments are also appreciated. We will try to have categories for City and County of Schenectady Local Laws and City Code.
Suggestions for layout and categories are also appreciated. This blog-site is only as good as the people who put it together, and who contribute.
NEW for 2012! We are setting up POSTS for Public Arrest Articles and a page for Schenectady Police Arrest Records. Thank You SPD!

Pat – Thank you for doing this; I am so appreciative of the time you spend, both on this site, and the other schenectady board (rants, raves etc.). Would it be possible to have a listing of potential property manager that people have been pleased with on the site? I may have use for one, but have no idea where to begin looking.
Thanks,
Arianne

Most “real estate” agencies perform as property managers. Some lawyers also provide a management service.
We do have a need for Management Services and I will try to get a page together for that issue.

We are unable to recommend an attorney. If you check the eCourt for City of Schenectady, you may find the names of attorneys that are representing private landlords.
